A Message From Bob Bisno

First I would like to thank the community for allowing my team and I the privilege of working and getting to know your dreams and vision of Baldwin Park's future. We are excited about the strong support being voiced by the Baldwin Park residents for our plans to revitalize and create a new downtown.
Second, An opinion poll survey was conducted throughout the neighborhood recently and we are pleased to find that so many residents have a very favorable response to the plans underway. While those plans are yet in the conceptual stage, just the thought of new opportunities is exciting to the people of Baldwin Park. For many years, Baldwin Park has been talking about eliminating blight and working to create a downtown that meets the community's needs. And soon, new buildings, residential, entertainment, commercial, offices and perhaps even a new school are ever more possible. The project contemplates that revitalization would occur in Phases, initially the downtown core, and thereafter, the blocks immediately surrounding.
The environmental impact report for the overall development was circulated fro 60 days after its release on June 4. Six (6) public hearings were conducted by the City to explain the EIR and its contents. Comments from the public and affected agencies have been received and the Final EIR (FEIR) will be issued soon with responses to those comments. We invite you to attend the City Council special meeting and workshop that will be scheduled in the next couple of weeks. The City's consultants who authored various sections of the EIR will make presentations to the Council and will answer their questions.
After the EIR process is completed, the Phase I plans will be detailed for review by the Community Development Commission. Bisno Development Co LLC, together with the internationally renowned architectural firm, Jerde Partnership is working to make the draft plans for the future more specific.
